The competition was attended by 1st-4th year students of the schools of Medicine, Pediatrics, Dentistry, Pharmacy, PH, and the International Faculty of our university who were interested in the work of M. Makatayev. The competition was held in the following nominations:

• Mukagali’s poetry;
• Songs written to the words of Mukagali;
• Individual creativity of young poets.

The guests of the evening and members of the jury were: member of the Kazakh Academy of Sciences, poet, winner of the Turksoy medal “For Merit to the Culture and Art of the Turkic World”, winner of the Presidential medal “For Merit to the Culture and Art of the Turkic World”, winner of the Information Industry Award – Dauletbek Baitursynuly; Dean of the International Faculty – Dzhardemalieva Nurzhamal Zhenisovna; Specialist of the Department of Education – Salkynbekova Akerke Mukhtarovna and Chief Specialist of the Dean’s Office of the International Faculty – Ybray Aitoly Bolatbekovna; assoc.Prof. of the Department of Language Disciplines, Candidate of Philology Zaisanbayev Toleubek Kizatuly.

Students read the poet’s poems with expressiveness, sang popular songs set to his words, and also recited poems dedicated to M. Makatayev.

At the end of the evening, the head of the Department of Language Disciplines, Baktybayeva Annel Tleumagambetovna, made a closing speech and awarded the students who won prizes with diplomas and certificates.
