On February 20, 2026, the International Faculty organized an information session for international students on the topic: “Law and Legal Order for Foreign Students: Border and Migration Control, Infectious Safety Issues (Nipah Virus).”
The event brought together international students and representatives of law enforcement agencies and aimed to raise legal awareness, ensure compliance with migration requirements, and strengthen sanitary and epidemiological safety.
During the session, Azat Kuanishuly, an officer of the Committee for National Security’s Department in Almaty Region, presented on “Compliance of Foreign Students with the Established Rules for Visiting Tourist Sites in the Border Zone of Almaty Region: Legal Requirements and Preventive Measures.”
Additionally, Senior Inspector of the Department of Migration Police of Almaty City, Er Daulet Usenov, and Police Captain of the Almaly District Police Department, Akhmet Kasymakynov, conducted explanatory sessions for students on “Observance of the Visa Regime by Foreign Citizens and Liability for Violations of the Migration Legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” answering students’ questions regarding migration rules.
Alibi Zhanabergen, Manager of Domestic and Inbound Tourism at the Kazakhstan Tourism Association, delivered a presentation in English on “Safe and Responsible Tourism: Compliance with the Rules for Visiting Tourist Sites in the Border Zone,” providing students with important information.
Perizat Sailaukenova, Tourism Engineer at Ile-Alatau National Park, presented on “Rules of Conduct in Specially Protected Natural Areas” and engaged with students in a feedback session.
The closing remarks were made by Basit Ateel, a lecturer at the Department of Epidemiology, who spoke about the “Nipah Virus: Symptoms, Risks, and Personal Safety Rules” for students.
This initiative aimed to increase the awareness of international students and ensure a safe and lawful educational experience in Kazakhstan.
