Students selection for studying at the Military Department

Students who are not older than 24 years for the year of the competition are allowed to participate in the competition

The selection of students for studying at the military department is carried out by the selection committee on a competitive basis in accordance with the recruitment plan approved by the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Military training under the reserve officers’ program is carried out on a state educational order and on a paid basis

The cost of training under the program of reserve officers and reserve sergeants on a paid basis does not exceed the cost of training under the state educational order

For students of other universities who do not have a military department, training is conducted only on a paid basis under the reserve officer training program. Military training under the reserve sergeants’ program is carried out on a paid basis

The competition for the selection of students for studying at the military department is carried out in four stages:

1. A medical examination in accordance with the Rules of the military medical examination and State on the bodies of the military medical examination of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan, approved by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 2, 2015 No. 373;
2. Conducting professional and psychological testing;
3. Verification of physical fitness;
4. Competitive selection is carried out in accordance with the calculation of the rating score, compiled and approved by the head of the OHPE (organization of higher and (or) postgraduate education).

Physical fitness of students is evaluated by the results of passing physical standards for physical culture. Students who do not score 8 points on the sum of passing three standards are considered not to have passed this stage.

Professional psychological testing of students is conducted in computer classes and includes testing the level of motivation, stress resistance, critical and logical thinking.

The results of the competition are posted until 17.00 on the next day after the end of the work of the selection committee at the information stand of the military department.

Passing each stage of the competition is allowed once

For studying under the reserve officer training program, documents are accepted from first-year (with 4-year studying) and second-year (with 5-year studying) students, according to the recruitment plan.

For studying under the reserve sergeants training program, documents are accepted from students of the first, second year (with 4-year studying) and first, second, third year (with 5-year studying), according to the recruitment plan

A student who has expressed a desire to participate in the competitive selection, completes an application in the form with the attachment of documents according to the list below:

1. Application (issued and completed at the military department);
2. Identity card (original and copy);
3. Military registration certificate (youths) or military ID card (original and copy);
4. 2 photos 3×4 cm;
5. Certificate of the presence or absence of a criminal record
6. A document (if any) confirming a sporting achievement
7. Certificate of the actual studying of the student in the OHPE, signed by the Dean of the Faculty

The submitted documents for the military department are attached to the personal file, and the student is given a card for passing a medical examination in the local military administration bodies.

To participate in the competitive selection, the results of the medical examination are submitted to the military department no later than 10 working days before the start of the selection committee.

Students who have not passed a medical examination are not allowed to participate in the competition.

Students accepted for studying at the military department are potential candidates for military service on conscription and accept the corresponding obligations.
