Dementor aims to become a distinguished, professional, and respected student organization of the university by developing a strong brand identity. The organization enhances the university’s image and contributes to attracting dynamic, motivated students. Representing the university at external conferences, workshops, and inter-university events through its active involvement in international student recruitment and engagement events. Dementor supports the university’s global outreach efforts and strengthens its reputation as a welcoming, internationally oriented medical institution. The organization also seeks official recognition and structured operational support to ensure long-term sustainability with university standards. Dementor helps build valuable academic networks while showcasing the talent and professionalism of its students. Also, by encouraging members to pursue personal research initiatives and innovative projects, the organization fosters a culture of scientific inquiry that enriches the university’s research environment and contributes to its standing as a center of academic and medical excellence.

SDF IS

EST. 2016

SDF IS stands for Student Dean Faculty of International School.

It is the first and largest organisation dedicated to international students at KazNMU. SDF IS serves as a central hub for student engagement, hosting competitive and live events, disseminating important information, and overseeing numerous groups and societies under its umbrella.

Since its establishment in 2016, SDF IS has paved the way for a rich spectrum of extra-curricular activities, offering guidance and support to the international student community. Its is not just an organization, It’s a family — a family that brings together over 100 passionate members from every corner of the world. We work to make sure that every international student here not only receives academic guidance but also feels genuinely included and belonged.

Motive:

  • To support international students academically, socially, and culturally.
  • To create a welcoming environment where every student feels included, supported, and represented.
  • To build a connected community through events, guidance, platforms, and opportunities.
  1. Societies Under SDFIS
  • RAQSA – true to its name, is a place where dancers and creative minds find a home. The first dance society by international students, they we have together intricate choreographies that leave audiences spellbound and share culture and art through dance
  • LIT SOC – The Renaissance Lit Soc is a safe space for all literature lovers, debaters, writers, readers, artists, and creative thinkers alike. Since its establishment, lit soc has organized events that were never seen before in. KazNMU. Quizzes, debates, MUNs, open mics, round table discussions, competitions, and publications… the list is long.
  • RIYAAZ – The music society of KazNMU, Riyaaz is a vibrant space for music lovers and performers from diverse backgrounds. They perform at university events, collaborate with other societies, and ensure that the campus resonates with melody and rhythm.

While these societies function independently, they adhere to the same core ideology and guiding principles as SDF IS.

executes all technical support and covers photo-editing, videography, video-editing, web design, audio, and lighting. It plays a crucial role in marketing, design and back-stage technical support.

  1. MEDIA GROUP

Handles photography, videography, designing, reels, content creation, and social media management.

Maintains the public image of SDFIS and covers all events creatively and professionally.

  1. SPORTS GROUP

one of the most dynamic groups of the organization, the sports group oversees all sports activities and conducts one of the biggest sports tournaments for International students of KazNMU every year – IGNIS.

  1. LOGISTICS GROUP

Backbone of event management.Arranges setups, seating, equipment, props, backstage support, and coordinates on-ground requirements.Ensures every event runs smoothly and efficiently.

  • Cultura:

a cultural fest for students from different nations celebrating their cultures and food .

  • Ramadan distribution:

The Ramadan Distribution Project is an initiative to support students and families during the holy month by providing essential food packages and necessities. It fosters a spirit of generosity, unity, and community care.

  • Medcon:

A medical workshop that provides students with hands-on training, clinical case discussions, and insights into the latest medical advancements. It aims to enhance practical skills and encourage collaboration among future healthcare professionals.

Consists of :

  1. A suturing workshop
  2. An ECG workshop
  3. An internal disease workshop
  4. CPR workshop
  5. IV, injections and venipuncture
  • IGNIS:

it’s a sports championship-celebration of determination and unity, where students test their limits by participating in various sports and discover the strength that comes from working together.

  5. Badminton
  • Convocation Ceremony:

The Convocation Ceremony is a formal event held to recognize academic degrees and honor graduating students, marking their transition from student life to professional and civic responsibilities.

  • Induction/Orientation:

A welcoming function for freshers, along with a run through about our universities and organisations.

  1. Casting & Recruitment

Every semester, castings for new members are held. Announcements regarding these castings are posted on the official SDF IS Instagram page and circulated via WhatsApp. Additionally, Raqsa, Lit Soc, and Riyaaz conduct separate castings, with announcements shared on their respective social media pages.

SDF IS stands as a cornerstone of international student life at KazNMU, fostering talent, encouraging creativity, and building a vibrant, inclusive community. At its core, we stand for unity, initiative, and representation.
