A student scientific circle called “Themis” has been created and operates at the Department of Medical Law, the scientific director of the circle is Professor, Doctor of Law Taitorina B.A.
The student scientific circle “Themis” is a voluntary organization of students who have expressed a desire to master the skills of conducting scientific research and successfully combine such activities with studies.
The main objectives of the student scientific circle are the development of scientific independence, deepening and consolidating the knowledge gained in the learning process.
The main tasks of the student scientific circle:
- ensuring the active participation of students in scientific events;
- teaching methods and methods of independent solution of situational problems in the field of jurisprudence and skills of working in research teams.
The number of participants is 30 students.
Conferences, round tables, seminars are held with the participation of students on topical topics, such as: “Euthanasia: rescue or murder?”.
And also, on the topic “The principle of academic honesty as the basis of the modern university’s activities”, where such issues as: “The principle of academic honesty in the university’s value system”, “Academic honesty as freedom from the destructive influence of orthodoxy”, “Sets of rules and regulations of modern universities of the world regulating the principle of academic honesty”, “The principle of academic integrity: the ability to change the world for the better?”, “The role and significance of the Code of Academic Integrity for improving the status of a modern university”, “The mission of the League of Academic Integrity is to improve the quality of education in the Republic of Kazakhstan”, “Forms of responsibility for violations of academic integrity”, “Conscientious academic practice is a matter of student honor”, “The problem of plagiarism in students’ scientific works”;
- Round table on the topic “Modern problems of combating corruption in the healthcare system”;
- Kazakhstan in the Era of Independence: student conference “The Republican referendum as the basis for the validity of constitutional changes”;
- Seminar for University teaching staff “Republican referendum – a way to realize the right of citizens to govern the state”;
- Seminar “Constitutional reform — a mechanism for ensuring constitutional stability”.
