On May 2, 2025, the Department of Language Disciplines of the School of the International Faculty at S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University held the International Subject Olympiad in the Kazakh, Russian, and English languages. Organizing this Olympiad in language disciplines has become a tradition of the department, aimed at increasing interest in studying the Kazakh language as the state language, Russian as an international language, and English as one of the global languages.
The Olympiad was conducted at a high level and was distinguished by engaging questions and the participants’ positive motivation to further study these languages.
More than 80 students took part in the Olympiad, representing Jordan, India, Mongolia, Turkey, China, Uzbekistan, as well as the cities of Almaty, Semey, and Karaganda in Kazakhstan.
The Olympiad was conducted in four sections:
Section No. 1 — Kazakh language for foreign students studying in Kazakhstan
Section No. 2 — Russian as a foreign language (for foreign students)
Section No. 3 — Russian as a non-native language (for national groups)
Section No. 4 — English language
The Olympiad consisted of two rounds held on the same day:
Round I — Lexical and grammatical test
Round II — Reading and comprehension (inserting words appropriate in meaning and matching correct endings)
